The Truth About Chinese Hair Extension Grading (4A - 7A) System!

In the United States we use a grading system for EVERYTHING!  According to the* U.S.D.A. grading is based on standards and standards are based on measurable attributes that describe the value and utility of the product. Standards for each product describe the entire range of quality for a product, and the number of grades varies by commodity. For example,  there are 8 grades of beef, 3 each for chicken, eggs & turkey,  32 grade standards  &  specifications for dairy products and more than 312 fruit, vegetables & speciality product standards.* So, with all that said, what are the standards for which Human Hair is graded?? You guessed it............there is none.  The US doesn't have a  regulatory agency for Hair. Manufacturers and processors from overseas have gotten wind on how grades are important to us in the western world so they have gotten together to give us grades based on on their own internal quality structure. So, if its the BEST hair th

How to choose the correct length when buying HairExtensions

Hair Extensions come in different lengths.  Choosing your  length is very important when buying extensions.  Since we are all different heights and sizes,  the extensions will not fall the same way.  It is a good idea to have a particular look or style in mind.  If you are not sure,  ask  yourself, are you looking to add extensions for length or fullness?  Once you figure  that out, it is time to begin measuring. Using a clothing   measuring tape (the soft one),  measure  your own hair and then decide on how much length you would like to add.  For example, if  the  length of your natural hair  is 10 inches and you would like to add 4 inches, you will need 14 inch extensions. If you want a full head of extensions with no leave out,  place the  tape on the  Crown of your head and bring it  down to your desired length.  Have a friend help you to hold the tape at the bottom while you hold the tape measure on your crown.   Then, write down the results.  If you wa

Why I decided to wear a Hair Closure

I remember the  first time I  heard about hair closures . I said “oh no”! I’m not wearing that! I may as well wear a wig! As time when on and I began seeing Celebrities on television wearing lace closures and silk closures, they looked beautiful! It was difficult to tell if it was their natural hair or not.  The hair looked as though it was growing right out of their heads!!  I was so amazed!   They had me fooled.  LOL!   So I broke down and bought a Brazilian Silk Lace Closure to compliment my Brazilian Body Wave Hair from Mayvenn Hair.  It was one of the best hair decisions I have ever made in my Hair Career:  No more dry or broken leave outs due to the curling iron or flat iron. I was able to give my hair a rest.  I looked fabulous everyday with no effort. My weaves last for a longer period of time. Learn 3 things you must do before installing your weave. Three Reasons For Hair Loss

Hair Loss has become a big problem for many people. Both men and women are suffering from hair loss due to many reasons. The top three reasons are: 1.  Stress 2. Iron deficiency 3.  Hormonal. You ask yourself "how can I control stress"?  Find something you can do or say when you start feeling stressed out. For example you might want to take 10 to 15  out of your day to stretch, exercise or meditate. Reflect on all the good things in your life.  Sing, dance, laugh! Think about all you have accomplished thus far. You will feel better. Iron deficiency can be corrected by taking vitamins or eating green vegetables like spinach and bok Choy. These two vegetables are  rich in minerals and vitamins, iron, beta carotene, folate and vitamin C, they help to keep hair follicles healthy and scalp oils circulating. As women get older our hormones get out of balance. This causes  mood swings, weigh gain, hair loss just to mention a few things.  Try getting more sleep, chang

How To Fix Split Ends

Split ends who doesn't have them??  Would you believe that your hair extensions can get split ends?  Yes its true.   If you wear Virgin or Remy human hair, it is possible.  Weaves that have the cuticle intact can have/get  split ends.   With Florida's bipolar weather flatironing your hair and keeping it straight may be a challenge!  Trying to "get that model look" everyday can cause  terribly split, dry and brittle  hair:-(..........I thought that weave could withstand anything.  Hmmmm, guess, I was wrong!   After the heat styling I had to  trim my weave hair because it looked  limp and lifeless.  If  this happens with weaves,  it can definately  happen to your  natural hair! "Whooo......I guess I burnt my hair, darn! It's coming out! The Biggest culprit that helps us distroy our hair is............drumroll................HEAT, HEAT AND MORE HEAT!  We all like our hair to look super sleek and silky and this of course is done through heat sty
